Kingdom Rush Genesis Patch1: what changes for your run
Patch1 is announced, with more gold on Casual, faster hero and spell levelling, easier star unlocks and changes to Classic Rush. The full values are still to come. Treat the adjustments below as planned until they appear in your installed version.

Should you wait?
If the XP grind or star requirements are what stopped you, the announced changes address those directly. If you want to keep playing, Casual and the existing catch-up bonus are available now. No new stages are listed for Patch1.
Find the change that affects you
These are the announced adjustments, followed by something you can do with the current rules.
Not enough gold
- Planned in Patch1
- More gold on Casual; artillery costs adjusted to make building easier.
- While you wait
- For a less restrictive run, use Casual. Check the cost of a stronger damage tower before spending on mining.
Heroes and spells level too slowly
- Planned in Patch1
- Faster levelling and a stronger catch-up effect for characters and spells behind your highest level.
- While you wait
- Keep levelling one lead pick, then rotate in lower-level picks. The current catch-up bonus already gives them double XP.
Too many stars needed to unlock a pick
- Planned in Patch1
- Lower star requirements for heroes, towers and spells.
- While you wait
- Keep earned stars; the preview gives no replacement thresholds. Use the current unlock list until the changed requirements appear in your game.
Classic Rush costs too much
- Planned in Patch1
- Cheaper abilities, and towers starting fully upgraded on Impossible.
- While you wait
- Check the difficulty before following a build. A Classic Impossible opening after the patch may differ from a launch-version video.
Enemies near the exit are ignored
- Planned in Patch1
- Visible enemies still on the path near an exit will remain targetable.
- While you wait
- Put damage along the escape route and hold enemies inside its range. This change does not promise manual target selection or a new target-priority order.
Three stages to revisit
Tower spots and waves are being adjusted in stages 3, 7 and 10. The preview does not give the new layouts or wave lists, so keep an eye on your own map before copying an older opening.
Bolin, artillery and Rain of Fire
Bolin is getting mine-placement fixes, a buff and bug fixes. Artillery costs are being adjusted, and Rain of Fire is being buffed. New damage values, prices and cooldowns are not included in the preview; do not spend upgrade points around an assumed number.
For now, use tower stats to compare the current costs. Rain of Fire belongs to the Classic Rush loadout; it is separate from the selectable spells in the main campaign.
If your game crashes
General bug fixes are part of the plan, but the preview does not promise a fix for every crash. On Steam, the crash guide explains the live engine update, when to test the previous version and what to send support. Back up your save before troubleshooting.
New campaigns are a separate update
Patch1 focuses on balance and fixes. The two mini-campaigns on the content roadmap each add three stages, a tower, a hero and a spell. Neither their price nor the exact release day has been announced.
