Ignus, however, had little patience for standing around while his spells did the fighting. He trained his body to match his magic, so he could get up close and personal. That discipline eventually led to his signature trick: wrapping himself in living flame.
In Genesis we catch him just shy of the finish line: the flame burns nearly around the clock, and his human form only resurfaces in short flashes he can't quite suppress.
A sorcerer this allergic to rules was never going to sit out Vez'nan's attempts to seize power. Ignus joins Gerald and the party to put an end to it, personally, and at very close range.
