Kingdom Rush 6 stars
The campaign pays up to 3 stars per stage, so it stops at 54. The rest come from the other modes, one star per win: 144 stars in all, or 126 if Iron Challenge wins pay none. On Steam, 10 heroes, towers and spells cost more than 54, which is why finishing the campaign leaves some of them locked.
How a win is scored
A campaign win is scored by the lives you have left at the end. A stage keeps its best campaign result, so replaying it can only raise its stars.
| Lives left | Stars |
|---|---|
| 18 or more | 3 |
| 6 to 17 | 2 |
| 1 to 5 | 1 |
Blitz, Spell Rush, Hero Party and Classic Rush each pay a flat 1 star for a win, however many lives you finish with. For Iron Challenge the published figures disagree: one star, or none. What each mode changes is on modes and difficulty.
Where the stars come from
| Mode | Stars per stage | Across 18 stages |
|---|---|---|
| Campaign | up to 3 | 54 |
| Iron Challenge | 1 or 0 | 18 or 0 |
| Blitz | 1 | 18 |
| Spell Rush | 1 | 18 |
| Hero Party | 1 | 18 |
| Classic Rush | 1 | 18 |
| Total | 144 or 126 |
What 54 campaign stars buy
A perfect campaign reaches 54, enough for these 19, cheapest first. The towers and heroes you start with, and the Scholar Mage after stage 1, cost nothing.

Past 54: the ones that need other modes
These 10 cost more than the campaign can pay, so the difference has to come from wins in the other modes. The last of them, Ashbite, is 26 or 30 stars past a perfect campaign. Impossible difficulty is a star reward as well, at 60.
- Arcane Forger tower, 56 stars
- Ignus hero, 58 stars
- Thunder Zapper spell, 62 stars
- Sentry Watchtower tower, 64 stars
- Illiana hero, 66 stars
- Wintersong's Wrath spell, 68 stars
- Oni hero, 70 stars
- Aspect of Sol spell, 72 stars
- Drakkan hero, 76 or 80 stars
- Ashbite hero, 80 or 84 stars
A star is worth the same whichever mode pays it, but the runs are not the same length: Iron Challenge is a single wave on every stage, Blitz is three, Spell Rush and Hero Party six, and Classic Rush as many as the campaign. The XP and star planner takes your current total and lists what it opens next.
On iPhone and Android
The mobile versions sell some heroes, towers and spells instead of unlocking them with stars. All 10 of the ones past 54 are in-app purchases there, so on a phone a perfect campaign covers every hero, tower and spell that is still unlocked with stars. The price page lists what each version sells.
